The Blacksmith Arch Fireplace Glass Door can be installed as an inside or overlap fit with a frame width of 1”, 1 ½”, or 2”. If you have a very large fireplace, I would recommend the widest width; a small fireplace-the smallest width. The powder coat finish is more resistant to chipping, scratching, and rust than older fireplace doors because new technology is used to coat the surface of the steel. The standard ¼” tempered glass can be fashioned in cabinet style doors (which open straight out into the room) or trackless bi-fold doors (can open and fold back out of the way). If you have a wood burning fireplace, I would recommend a screen mesh door to prevent airborne sparks and embers from escaping while the fireplace glass doors are open.
